Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 12, 2026

This policy covers the Shas in Yiddish (שיעורי הש״ס אידיש) website and mobile apps, which provide free access to Amud HaYomi shiurim. The short version: you do not need an account, we do not know who you are, and we do not sell or share data with anyone.

What we collect

Anonymous listening statistics. To understand which shiurim are being listened to, the app sends anonymous playback events: which shiur was played, the playback position, how many seconds were heard, the playback speed, and the platform (web, iOS, or Android). These events carry a random identifier generated on your device. It is not linked to your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personal information — we have no way to connect it to you.

Server logs. Like virtually every website, our servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and troubleshooting. They are not used to identify or profile listeners.

We collect nothing else. There are no advertisements, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no listener accounts.

What stays on your device

The app stores some data only on your own device: your playback positions (so a shiur resumes where you left off), your language preference, shiurim you download for offline listening, and the random identifier described above. This data never leaves your device except as part of the anonymous statistics, and it is removed when you delete the app or clear your browser data.

Third-party services

Audio is streamed from our podcast host (rss.com) and our content delivery network (DigitalOcean), and the site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your device requests audio or fonts, those services receive your IP address as part of the ordinary network request, subject to their own privacy policies. We do not send them anything about you.

Administrator sign-in

The site has an administration area used only by the people who maintain the catalog. They sign in with Google, which shares their name and email address with us. Listeners never sign in and no such data is collected from them.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children — the anonymous statistics described above are the only data collected from any listener.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and its effective date.
